Jesus reminds us "From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise." Ponder United Methodist Church believes our children can praise Him with joy and happiness. We want to give them a chance to enjoy and be active in church. Ponder UMC offers them Sunday School classes and Kids Church, to help them learn the Bible Stories as well as develop their own Christian values.
YOT club - is an important part of our church family. All children ages 4 thru 5th grade are welcome to join us. Our Youth Of Tomorrow has four large seasonal celebrations, an Easter Egg Hunt, a costumed Happy Hallelujah Fest, a Christmas Program with a Happy Birthday Jesus party and our Vacation Bible School. We have a fall YOT After School Wednesday program and a winter craft field trip. We hope that the kids find happiness not only in God, but in spending time in a Christian enviroment and that happiness stays with them as they grow.
Sunday School - YOT Sunday School classes are divided by children PreK (4 yrs) thru 1st grade and 2nd grade thru 5th graders. The older group have crafts or activities to help them learn the weekly lesson, and a bible verse memory challenge. The younger class is more low key, story time and an activity along with play time. Both Sunday School classes are offered at 10am.
Kids Church - We know it is hard to be a kid and sit still through an hour long service. So we offer Kids Church. The children start out with us for the beginning of the service and then are excused to a classroom off of the sanctuary where they have a lesson of their own. This is offered to all kids PreK thru 5th grade, plus we have a nursery available for the younger children.
We do admit that there are some days that the Lord makes easier to find beauty than other days. On such days, we have been know to drop everything and go out to enjoy the beauty of it on our large playground.
